The Global Galvanizing Awards have been presented at Intergalva 2018 to recognise the innovative use of batch galvanized steel by architects, engineers, constructors and artists around the world.

This year’s Intergalva 2015 conference brought together some of the most prominent business and industry leaders in the global galvanizing industry, as well as distinguished academics and experts from universities, industry and other organisations including World Steel, International Zinc Association, Siemens Wind Power and Tata Steel Construction.

Intergalva is organised by European General Galvanizers Association (EGGA) and hosted by the Galvanizers Association. The conference covers technical, commercial and environmental topics for the general (batch) hot dip galvanizing industry. It continues the series that began in 1950 and was last held in Paris in 2012.

EGGA has published a guidance document on the role of the galvanizer in supporting the CE-Marking of constructional steelwork. With CE-Marking according to EN 1090-1 due to be implemented across Europe from 1 July 2014, this practical guidance will assist steel fabricators and galvanizers to ensure the correct procedures and requirements are in place.

An EGGA delegation of European industry representatives and invited MEPs with an interest in the sector attended a lunchtime briefing 'The Role and Future of Europe’s Hot Dip Galvanizing Industry' on 9 July 2013 in the European Parliament. The event was hosted by MEP Paul Ruebig (Austria).
